1 hospitalized, gunman sought in LA shooting

MID-CITY, LOS ANGELES

The incident happened at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday at a home on 17th Street and Rimpau Boulevard.

One teen was shot in the back. It's likely he was trying to run to the police station for help.

The victims were transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Two of the victims were treated and released, but the third teen remains hospitalized listed in critical but stable condition after surgery.

Many streets in the area were shut down by police for several hours as investigators looked for suspects and for evidence. Some residents couldn't get back in their homes-

"There were just police cars everywhere we couldn't get in, we had to stay over somewhere else," said resident Jose Haro.

Residents said this isn't the first time something like this has happened. The neighborhood is filled with children and young families, and some said they are fed up of the crime and being afraid.

"It's sad because no one really knows what's going on and there's just all this crime," said resident Chrisley Barrera.

Police do not have a motive or a suspect description yet. It's unknown if the shooting was gang related.

If you have information about the shooting, you're urged to call the /*Los Angeles Police Department*/ at (877) LAPD-24-7 or (877) 527-3247.
