Channing Tatum made his debut as host of "Saturday Night Live" on February 4 and the buff actor was not afraid to take his shirt off for a few laughs.

Tatum also tried a few impressions while on set including a spot on take of Matthew McConaughey -- who co-stars with him in the upcoming film "Magic Mike."

The film, which he co-produced with its director Steven Soderbergh, is about a rookie male stripper that gets taken under the wing of his more experienced co-workers to learn the trade. The story is based on Tatum's own experiences as a stripper in Florida. The film hits theaters on June 29.

In another sketch, Tatum played New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady who gets hit on by a woman (played by Bobby Moynihan) at a Ruby Tuesdays in Indianapolis just before the Super Bowl.

Both sketches can be seen below.

The show also addressed the buzzed about and widely panned performance of Lana Del Rey, who appeared three weeks prior during Daniel Radcliffe's episode. Perhaps the harshest criticism came from NBC news anchor Brian Williams, who sent an email to Gawker founder Nick Denton saying "Lana Del Rey had one of the worst outings in SNL history last night."

Wiig dressed up as Del Rey for the "Weekend Update" segment and cracked a few jokes at the backlash from the performance.

"Lana, three weeks ago you were on the show and you sang two songs off your new album," Seth Meyers told Wiig as Del Rey.

"That's what I thought I did Seth but based on the public's response I must have instead clubbed a baby seal while singing the Taliban national anthem," Wiig joked back.

Tatum will next appear opposite Rachel McAdams in "The Vow," where he will portray a husband who has to convince his wife to fall in love with him after she loses her memory in an accident.

The actor is also set to star opposite Jonah Hill in "21 Jump Street," which is slated for release on March 16, 2012.

Tatum is best known for his roles in "Haywire," "Coach Carter," "Fighting," "Public Enemies," "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and "Dear John." He began his career as a fashion model, appearing in campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch, Nautica, Dolce & Gabbana, American Eagle Outfitters, and Emporio Armani.
