Authorities said Jennifer McClain, a 29-year-old resident of Long Beach, had sexual contact with an inmate at the Santa Ana Jail. The contact was consensual, according to the sheriff's department, but the inmate filed a complaint, which sparked the investigation.
The alleged sexual contact happened more than once from November and December 2011 inside the jail.
McClain worked in the sheriff's intake release center and had been with the Orange County Sheriff's Department for five years.
