Zooey Deschanel is set to host the February 11 episode of "Saturday Night Live" with musical guest Karmin.
"This will definitely be a highlight of my life," Deschanel told MTV News of her "Saturday Night Live" debut. "For sure, the bucket list."
"I think the cast is so strong right now," Deschanel continued. "It's really great to be here right now."
Of her preparation, the 32-year-old actress said she had some input into the scripts and characters she would take on.
"They ask you if there's anything you'd like to do, if there're any impressions you can do, and, you know, characters - sort of talk about stuff you're capable of doing," the actress said. "Once you do the read-through is sort of when you can see what's working and not."
The musical guest, Karmin is an American pop duo consisting of Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan, who are engaged to one another. They are best known for covering Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now," Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" and LMFO's "Party Rock Anthem."
Deschanel currently stars in the comedy series "New Girl," which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. The show, which debuted on FOX last year, was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical.
On the show, Deschanel plays a quirky young adult named Jess who moves in with three single men after a bad breakup with her boyfriend. The actress, whose older sister is "Bones" star Emily Deschanel," is also known for films such as "Yes Man," "Almost Famous," the R-rated fantasy comedy "Your Highness" and the 2009 romance drama "(500) Days of Summer."
