R&B singer Robin Thicke was arrested in New York for possession of marijuana on Friday, February 17.
Police spotted the 34-year-old singer smoking marijuana in a parked black SUV near Manhattan's Madison Square Park just before 12:30 p.m. ET. He was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and issued a desk appearance ticket and released, reports WABC, sister station of KABC, OnTheRedCarpet.com's parent company.
Thicke is scheduled to appear in court on March 26. His rep had no immediate comment on the arrest.
Thicke married "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" actress Paula Patton in 2005. They had been dating since Thicke was 16-years-old. The couple welcomed their first child, Julian Fuego on April 6, 2010.
Thicke is the son of actor Alan Thicke, who portrayed patriarch Jason Seaver on ABC's long-running sitcom "Growing Pains."
The singer-songwriter has written and produced music for Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Mary J. Blige and others.
He eventually launched a solo career and his 2009 hit "Sex Therapy" made it to the top of the R&B charts. His fifth album "Love After War" was released in December 2011.
