Huntington Beach residents were warned Wednesday about recent car break-ins and credit-card thefts.

Police say two people broke into a car, stole a purse and charged more than $1,000 on the victim's credit cards at a Target store in Cypress.

The theft happened Monday on the 21600 block of Dirigo Circle in Huntington Beach. It was not clear if that theft was related to other recent car break-ins.

Anyone with information on area break-ins should contact the Huntington Beach Police Department at (714) 960-8811.
