Deputies said they received a 911 call before 10 p.m. about a man with a gun. At least one deputy fired at the suspect at the hotel near Rosemead and Washington boulevards.
It's unclear what occurred between the suspect and deputies before the shooting.
The name of the suspect and his condition were not immediately released.
No other injuries were reported.
