Kate Gosselin made an emotional return to television on Wednesday, appearing on Dr. Drew's CW series "Lifechangers."
The former reality star and mother of eight told Dr. Drew that she is not sure she is ready to date yet, or whether she will find someone willing go "deal with eight kids."
"If they can deal with eight kids and our situation, it probably will be the person. It will sort of prove it... The odds are so against me, one mom and eight kids... it would be great. I am lonely. I clean up the house, put kids to bed and there I sit. Ideally I would find that person... I don't know if I feel ready for that."
The 36-year-old reality TV mom, who appeared with her eight children on the TLC show "Kate Plus 8" and its previous incarnation, "Jon & Kate Plus 8," divorced Jon Gosselin in June 2009. She was granted primary custody of the children and ownership of the family home.
"Some people say 'How do you expect someone to come in and co-parent eight kids?' And I don't," Gosselin continued. "I mean, I don't expect someone to come in and financially provide for my kids. They're mine, that's my job. So, just to have somebody there. The most I would want from someone, honestly, is to say, 'Did you hear what your mother just said?' That's all I need, I've got all the barking, I just need the backup."
Gosselin has written three books, including "Multiple Blessings" and "Eight Little Faces." Her latest publication, "I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith, and Family," was released in April 2010.
The reality star recently laughed off rumors that she received a facelift, addressing the issue at her new blogging gig.
"I will confirm that I have not had one," Gosselin wrote on her CouponCabin.com blog. "I am only 36! But, I will take all of the talk about how rested and young I look as a compliment! So thanks!"
According to Us Weekly magazine, Gosselin had a tummy tuck in 2007 and breast implant surgery in 2009. In June, she reportedly gave herself Botox injections.
In November, CouponCabin.com announced that Gosselin would serve as a contributing blogger, offering money-saving advice. The mother of eight returned to the job market after her TLC reality series "Kate Plus 8" ended.
TLC announced on August 15 that "Kate Plus 8' would end on September 12 after 150 episodes, adding that the network "hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future."
