Katy Perry is hitting the small screen again with a new guest spot on "Raising Hope," but the "California Gurls" singer will not look like herself when viewers tune in to the episode.
Perry sports a curly red wig, a police officer's uniform and sports a hint of a mustache while on the show playing a prison attendant named "Rikki" who is a friend of Shannon Woodward's character Sabrina.
"Shannon Woodward is my best friend," Perry said in a statement. "A couple weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when she called me up and asked if I wanted to do something 'fun' for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show."
"I thought, 'Sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin' with my best friend,'" she added. "Greg [Garcia, the series creator] was nice, but I hope he's not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by type-casting me in the role of just a looker, so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging."
Perry has appeared on television before. She had a guest spot on "How I Met Your Mother" in February 2011 and hosted "Saturday Night Live" in December. She also appeared as herself on "The Simpsons" in 2010 and lent her voice to "The Smurfs" film last year.
Perry's episode of "Raising Hope" is set to air on March 6 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
