Shepard Fairey pleaded guilty Friday to criminal contempt.
Fairey and the Associated Press got into a legal battle over the news service's picture of Obama that Fairey turned into the poster.
That case was settled.
Fairey's criminal troubles center around destroying documents and altering others to cover up his use of the AP photo.
Fairey's sentencing is set for July 16. He could get up to six months in prison.
