"Descendants" co-screenwriter Jim Rash said his imitation at the Oscars of Angelina Jolie's leg-baring pose, which now has its own Twitter, marked his "loving tribute" to the actress.
"I just saw her pose and I thought, you know what, we have exactly the same legs and I wanted to show everyone what it meant," Rash told reported backstage after their win. "It was a loving tribute. It was more like, oh, she's standing, great, I'm going to stand like that, too."
Faxon said Jolie is "supremely hot," adding: "Jim did the leg first and he didn't tell us, tell me, so I had to like quickly adapt."
Jolie, dressed in a black velvet Atelier Versace gown with a slit, showed off her leg while posing on the red carpet before the ceremony (see photos). Her pose was mocked online by viewers and spurred one of them to create a Twitter account called Angie's Right Leg.
"You have to admit I'm one hell of a leg," one message said.
The actress attended the event with partner Brad Pitt (see video), who was nominated for Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in "Moneyball." He lost to Jean Dujardin of "The Artist," which also captured Best Picture.
Jolie was not nominated for an Oscar this year but won one for the 1999 film "Girl, Interrupted."
