Melissa McCarthy turned heads when she graced the red carpet of the 84th Academy Awards on February 26 in a blush colored Marina Rinaldi gown.
The gown featured a jeweled neckline and her look was finished off with a pair of shoes from designer Brian Atwood, who is a close friend of the actress.
McCarthy told CNN her shoes had a special message on the sole.
"He wrote, 'Exclusively made for my BFF Melissa McCarthy on Oscar night," McCarthy said.
The "Bridesmaids" star was nominated to Best Actress in a Supporting role for her character in the film. However, she lost out to close friend Octavia Spencer of "The Help" for the big win. Check out the full list of winners here.
McCarthy talked to George Pennacchio of KABC Television, OnTheRedCarpet.com's parent company at the Academy Awards about her award show experience and career boost from the past year.
"I look around and my mom and dad and my sister and my husband are with me and I just think ...all these people and on the way over here I went 'Oh my god I think we're going to the Oscars,''" McCarthy said. "It kind of hit me a little late. It's just surreal, it really is."
