Driver rescued after crash in Angeles National Forest

A driver was rescued after his car crashed about 100 feet down an embankment in the Angeles National Forest on Tuesday.

A driver was rescued after his car crashed about 100 feet down an embankment in the Angeles National Forest on Tuesday.

Authorities said the vehicle tumbled off the Angeles Forest Highway, about 15 miles south of Palmdale at 7:30 a.m. Firefighters work for about a half hour to free the man from his car. Then rescuers hoisted him into a helicopter.

The man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for moderate injuries. No one else was injured in the incident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
