Her husband, who is recovering after battling a series of health ailments, recently posted a YouTube video of Carey performing "Shake It Off" at the "Plot Your Escape" concert.

"It was great to be able to go and see her back on stage doing her thing," Cannon said on his website on Friday.

The "Plot Your Escape" gig is part of a four-show concert series, which is sponsored by Caesars Entertainment's "Escape to Total Rewards" program and was streamed online.

Rapper Lil Wayne and R&B star Cee Lo Green of the NBC singing contest series "The Voice," performed in Los Angeles. Rock band Maroon 5, whose lead singer Adam Levine also stars in "The Voice," and pop and soul singer Sara Bareilles performed in Chicago.

Disney Fantasy cruise chip christening

Also on Thursday, Carey and Cannon attended the christening of the new Disney Fantasy cruise in New York (see video). It is the fourth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Carey had a No. 1 pop hit titled "Fantasy" in 1995.

The musical event was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, who called the vessel "incredible," and also featured a stand-up comedy performance from Jerry Seinfeld (see video).

"Oh my god. I'm on a boat!" he joked.

Carey joined Disney CEO Bob Iger and the crowd in a toast, which also featured another special guest.

"I'm so excited to be here, Mickey, as always. Fabulous ensemble," Carey said, adding: "I didn't want Minnie to go out by herself so I asked my hubby, my sweetheart Nick Cannon, to be her escort."

Cannon then appeared alongside the character as his wife led the crowd in a countdown chant.

"I christen thee Disney Fantasy," Carey said, just before glittering confetti rained down. "May God bless this ship and all who sail on her."
