The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. at California and Cypress avenues. The man was backing out of his driveway with his son in the back seat when a gray sedan occupied by at least three male Hispanics pulled up and stopped in the road.
The right front passenger then exited the sedan and fired six shots, striking the passenger side of the father's vehicle. The shooter returned to the sedan, which quickly fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic wearing a blue baseball cap.
