Kim Kardashian is donating to a good cause out of the gifts she received from her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries.
The reality star reportedly wrote a letter to her wedding guests informing them she has donated the monetary value of her wedding gifts to charity, according to E! News. Kardashian reportedly made the donation to the Dream Foundation.
According to the foundation's official website, it "grants final dreams from the heart for adults with life-limiting illness." Its headquarters are in Santa Barbara.
"It has taken some time to pull everything together," Kardashian said in the letter. "But I wanted to let you know that the money for every gift received by me at my wedding has been donated to the Dream Foundation; An organization that I am very passionate about."
"With gratitude in our hearts, we share with you that Kim Kardashian has made a donation to Dream Foundation in honor of your generous wedding gift," a spokesperson for the foundation told the site in a statement.
The 31-year-old "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star filed for divorce at a Los Angeles court. The couple's date of separation is also listed as October 31. The 31-year-old cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. This was Kardashian's second marriage. She and Humphries, 26, have no children.
Kardashian and Humphries, a basketball player, began dating in late 2010 and announced their engagement in May. The reality star was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas. The two wed in 2000, when she was 19 years old, and divorced in 2004.
It was announced in January that she landed a role on the Lifetime series "Drop Dead Diva.""I am so excited to announce that I'll be guest starring on 'Drop Dead Diva' season four this summer," Kardashian said. "My character is called Nikki, who is Ben's new love interest and starts a business venture with his ex, Stacy! I can't wait to get to work with everyone on set!!"
