The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. in an alley near Haster Street and East Wakefield Avenue. Police have not said what prompted the officer-involved shooting. No officers were injured.
Police said they're searching for a second suspected gang member who was with the gunman. Officers first responded to the scene after reports that several people were gathered in the alley.
