3 homeless men aid deputy in McDonald's arrest

POMPANO BEACH, Fla.

Surveillance video showed the deputy trying to subdue a man who tried to rob a McDonald's customer. At one point, the suspect's body slammed the deputy to the ground.

Although the McDonald's was full, no one came forward to help, so the three homeless men joined in.

"I think they are phenomenal," said Broward County Deputy Keven Meyers. "You know, they didn't have to get involved, and they did, and they made a great choice that day to assist and take a violent criminal off the streets."

That suspect is now in jail, but he didn't make it easy on deputies, even after he was in the patrol car. He reportedly tried to escape by kicking out the window.
