Peres met with several celebrities, including Eva Longoria, Edward James Olmos and Andy Garcia, as well as several dignitaries from the Latino community during the event, which was described as a conversation about the relationship and strong historical ties between the Latino and Jewish communities.
The 88-year-old president spoke candidly to the crowd of about 100 guests mixing in humor and philosophy.
"The Jewish inclination is to look for good questions, not for good answers," he said jokingly.
The president's visit included a stop at the DreamWorks Animation studios in Glendale on Friday. Peres has traveled across the U.S. for the past week, stopping by New York, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, where he made a visit to Facebook's headquarters.
He even created his own Facebook page with a video inviting people to "be my friend for peace."
Although at the tail end of a week-long, whirlwind trip, President Peres took time to answer questions and spoke graciously of his trip to California.
"I think occasionally it is more of a drama than a country, and when I watch you I feel you are just as dramatic as we are," he said
Peres' visit comes on the same week that Israel Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with President Barack Obama, where they discussed the two countries' policies toward Iran.
Sunday's event at the Beverly Hilton was Peres' last scheduled stop before heading back to Israel.
