President Obama to talk with ABC7's Marc Brown: A Southern California exclusive

March 11, 2012 12:00:00 AM PST
In a Southern California exclusive, ABC7's Marc Brown is in Washington, D.C., to talk with President Barack Obama, as well as key cabinet secretaries. Brown will address key issues affecting the Southland.

The first topic he will probe will be the price of gas. Our region pays some of the highest prices in the country. A new report to be released Monday will detail just how much our dependence on foreign oil has changed. If domestic oil production has gone up, why hasn't the price gone down?

Another topic to be discussed will be the economy, specifically jobs. The unemployment rate has dropped in California to below 11 percent for the first time in three years. However, at 10.9 percent, it's still high. Brown will ask the president what it will take to bring down the unemployment rate even further.

Brown's live reports from Washington begin at 4 p.m. Monday on Eyewitness News.
