Shooting at Fontana fish market leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

FONTANA, Calif.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. at El Pescado Market on the 9200 block of Sierra Avenue. Police said a gunman, identified as 46-year-old Lam Randy Hoan opened fire on a man and a woman.

The victims, who were 40 to 50 years old, were taken to a hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead. The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the upper torso. He is expected to survive, officials said. He was in stable condition Monday.

Investigators said the suspect surrendered without incident when police arrived.

The suspect and victims may have been involved in some sort of dispute, according to investigators. The victims were married and owned the fish market. The suspect also worked at the business.

There were several customers inside the market during the shooting. None of them was injured.
