Jake Gyllenhaal took a dark turn in a new music video for The Shoes single "Time to Dance."
In the clip, which can be seen below, Gyllenhaal murders several victims. His character murders people using a hammer, a knife and the actor dons a fencing outfit for some of the kills. The video lasts over eight minutes.
The 31-year-old actor is also seen working out, partying and getting a close shave in the video while he scowls in several shots. It isn't Gyllenhaal's first appearance in music video. In 2010, he appeared in the video for Vampire Weekend's "Giving Up the Gun."The video had a few similarities to the novel and film "American Psycho." The book's author Bret Easton Ellis even Tweeted about the video on March 12 saying, "I think I really, really like this a lot."
It was reported in January that former "Friday Night Lights" actress Minka Kelly turned down a date with Gyllenhaal following her breakup from New York Yankees player Derek Jeter.
Gyllenhaal was last seen in the 2011 film "Source Code." Up next he is set to appear in "Nailed" with Jessica Biel and James Marsden and "End of Watch" with Anna Kendrick and America Ferrera.
