Leah Remini was "not asked back" to the CBS morning talk show "The Talk" seven months ago and now she's claimed that Sharon Osbourne got her and fellow co-host Holly Robinson Peete fired.
"Sharon thought me and Holly were 'Ghetto,' (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn't know ourselves," Remini tweeted on Monday in response to a fan's question, adding later, "She said she was the reason we were let go."
The 41-year-old actress was referencing a December 2011 "Howard Stern" interview, where Osbourne admitted that she had voiced her concern to producers over Remini and Robinson Peete's on-air chemistry and also said, "Some people don't really know who they are. You have to know who you are when you're in something like this. You can't pretend to be something you're not. You have to know your brand. You can't be all things to everyone."
Osbourne denied having anything to do with Remini's firing, Tweeting on March 13, "I had absolutely nothing to do w her departure from the show & have no idea why she continues to take to Twitter to spread this false gossip... Leah knows that I have never been in the position to hire or fire anyone on the show."
"That being said, my only wish is that Leah would just stop all this negative, unprofessional, and childish behavior," Osbourne continued. "It's been seven months. It's time to move on. Leah is a very talented actress and I only wish her happiness and success... I know that better things are to come if she can just get beyond all this negativity."
Remini responded to dozens of fans comments regarding the drama, but said she would not respond directly to Osbourne.
"No one is perfect, including me. This is a waste of time. I will not respond to Sharon BUT only to say this, IF she wanted to clear it up she has my number & has had ALL this time and didn't use it. not even to say she was sorry," Remini Tweeted on March 13. "So to Sharon I say... Well done Sharon, you won. I will move on now as you suggested. And so should u. Be at Peace."
Remini, who is best known for her role on "King of Queens," announced her departure from the show, Tweeting on August 25, "It is official: I am sorry to say that I have NOT been asked back on the show. Sorry to my fans. U worked so hard! I adore u guys."
It was also announced at the time that Peete would not return for the show's second season. The first season of "The Talk" was co-hosted by Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Remini, Holly Robinson Peete and Sharon Osbourne.
Remini and Peete were replaced by comedian Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood.
"The Talk" underwent several changes in the panel between the first and second seasons. Remini and Peete's departure was announced in August along with the announcement that Kris Jenner would step in to be a guest co-host. Former "Saturday Night Live" alum Molly Shannon also appeared as a guest co-host on the show. Osbourne took some time off from the show as well, in part to recover from surgery she had to remove her breast implants after one of them leaked into her stomach.
