Carson street floods after deputy car crash

An investigation is under way into a crash that injured two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies and took out a fire hydrant.

The crash happened on Avalon Boulevard near the 405 Freeway in Carson at about 7 p.m. Friday.

Authorities say the two deputies were on patrol when the crash occurred. Another vehicle involved ran into a fire hydrant sending water shooting several feet into the air and causing street flooding.

The deputies sustained minor injuries.

It's unknown what led up to the crash.
