Arco stations closing as BP leaves Southland

LOS ANGELES

The oil giant, which has owned Arco since 2000, has notified its franchises that they will give up the stations as leases expire over the next two years. The stations will be replaced by USA Gasoline outlets, owned by Tesoro.

BP says the company is seeking a buyer for its 630-acres refinery in Carson.

Arco was known for providing the lowest gas prices across Southern California.
