OTRC: Rihanna shares grandma Dolly's birthday celebration

Rihanna might maintain a busy schedule, but the "We Found Love" singer took time off to celebrate her grandmother Dolly's birthday in New York on Friday, March 16.

The singer was spotted earlier in the evening buying groceries and a birthday cake for the family affair. Rihanna shared photos of her cooking dinner and hanging out with her family on Twitter, including several of her between her grandparents.

Rihanna also posted some memorable quotes on Twitter, including one from her grandfather, who joked about her constantly-changing hair styles.

"My GranDad: Robyn how ya is [sic] get hair from red to cream to black??? Cuz ya don't carry wigs!!! Ya does wash it out?! ME: ROTFL (no words)" Rihanna Tweeted on March 16.

The Barbadian singer also posted a photo of her grandparent's carpet, which appeared to be wrapped in the plastic covering it came in, with the caption, "This how u know u got caribbean grandparents."

Rihanna recently made headlines after collaborating with her Chris Brown on two new songs. She explained recently that he was "the only person that really...made sense to do the record."

Brown assaulted Rihanna, who was his girlfriend at the time, after a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009. He pleaded guilty to a felony charge was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service and was ordered by the courts to receive domestic violence courses for a year.

Rihanna recently discussed her single life, saying "Single life is so overrated."

"It sucks," she added. "I have such incredible experiences in my life. You don't want to live your life and then meet someone. You want to share your life with someone. That's what I'm missing right now."

The singer will make her acting debut in "Battleship" alongside Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, Brooklyn Decker and Alexander Skarsgard. The movie hits theaters in May 2012.
