Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of late singer Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown, had the media buzzing on March 16 when she stepped out wearing a ring on her engagement finger a few days after she was spotted getting close with her "adopted brother" Nick Gordon.
Update 3/19: Bobbi Kristina Brown's spokesperson has denied the two are engaged.
People magazine quotes a source reportedly close to Brown who states, "Yes, they are engaged, but the family is trying to coax her away from it."
The ring in question has been said to have once belonged to her mother Whitney Houston, according to the magazine.
The 19-year-old has not commented on the reports and has kept quiet on her Twitter account since March 13. Her Tweets from earlier in the week are reTweets of users who support a relationship between the two. Spokespeople for the Houston family have not issued a statement on the reports or confirmed the relationship.
Earlier in the week photos and video surfaced showing Brown holding hands and kissing Gordon, 22, in Atlanta.
Though Houston never adopted Gordon, her brother Michael told ABC News that Gordon was "like a son" to Houston, who took Gordon in a decade ago after learning that his birth mother could no longer care for him.
Gordon reportedly talked about his relationship with Bobbi Kristina Brown on his Twitter page, however, the account has been stripped of nearly all of its Tweets.
It was reported earlier this month that everything in the singer's will was left to Bobbi Kristina Brown. The 19-page document was originally filed in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3, 1993, a month before Bobbi Kristina was born. It was amended in April 2000, while the singer was still married to Bobby Brown.
Bobbi Kristina Brown is the only daughter of Houston and Bobby Brown, who wed in 1992 and divorced in 2007. Houston had sole custody of Bobbi Kristina following the divorce.
On February 12, Bobbi Kristina Brown was hospitalized "to be treated for stress and anxiety," a source close to the family told OnTheRedCarpet.com.
Following her hospitalization, Bobby Brown released a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com which read, "My daughter Bobbi Kristina is doing much better. We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother's death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected."
Investigators have not revealed what killed Houston, who was found unconscious and underwater in a bathtub by a member of her staff. Her autopsy has been completed but the results will not be released until a toxicology report is produced.
