The woman who was found dead inside a vitamin store in Huntington Park last week has been identified as 39-year-old Veronica DeReyes of Los Angeles.

DeReyes was found bound and gagged Thursday in a back room at the Global Nature shop on the 2700 block of East Florence Avenue. Responding officers found the register's cash drawer open, which led detectives to investigate the case as a robbery.

Police believe she may have suffocated after being tied up during a robbery, but an official cause of death has not been determined. An autopsy is still pending.

No arrests have been made. Authorities say the store was not equipped with surveillance cameras.

Anyone with information is urged to call Huntington Park police at (323) 584-6254.
