Woman found stabbed to death at Studio City park

STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES

Police responded to a 911 call at about 2:15 a.m. at South Weddington Park and found the body near a storage shed. Investigators say the 32-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times in her upper body.

Tuesday night, police identified the woman as Patrina Sabella of Rosamond.

Police suspect she was killed sometime between midnight and 2 a.m. They are processing a car that was found near the scene to see if it was involved in the case. Detectives aren't sure if the woman was driven to the park or if she drove herself, but they are certain the stabbing happened at the park.

No arrests have been made. Authorities have not released any information on a possible suspect.

Police told residents in the area that they believe the murder was an isolated attack.

"There's nothing that we found that would indicate that there's any danger to the community at this point," said LAPD Capt. Peter Whittingham.

Detectives say they are interviewing some transients who were sleeping in the park.

"It's pretty horrible because I walk home late at night after I get off of work right here at Universal," said Stephanie Randall of Studio City.

Anyone with information about the stabbing was asked to call the /*Los Angeles Police Department*/ at (877) LAPD-24-7.

Correction: It was earlier reported that the park is located in Toluca Lake. Police say it's in Studio City.
