Penelope Ann Miller, who recently appeared in the Oscar-winning film "The Artist," has filed for legal separation from her husband of 12 years.
According to legal documents obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com, Miller filed the petition for separation in Los Angeles County Superior Court on March 15, 2012.
Miller and her husband James Huggins wed in 2000 and have two children - Eloisa May, 11, and Maria Adela, who turns 3 on March 23.
Miller was previously married to former "Arrested Development" star Will Arnett from 1994 until 1995. Arnett is now married to "Parks and Recreation" star Amy Poehler, they have two sons - Archibald, 3, and Abel, 1.
The 48-year-old actress is best known for her roles in "Carlito's Way," "Kindergarten Cop" and "Adventures in Babysitting."
In "The Artist," Miller portrayed Doris, the wife of protagonist George Valentin (Jean Dujardin). The film earned the Best Picture Oscar at the 84th Academy Awards on February 26. Dujardin also earned the Oscar for Best Actor.
