Former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star Brian Austin Green allegedly beat up a photographer for taking photos of his wife Megan Fox in a bikini, according to a lawsuit filed on Monday.
The suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 26 by photographer Delbert Shaw, who said he took photos of Green and Fox on a public beach at the Four Seasons Resort in Kailua Kona, Hawaii in December 2011.
According to Shaw, Fox was "infuriated" about being photographed in a bikini and yelled to her husband, "Are you going to let him get away with that?" Green allegedly responded by grabbing the photographer's iPhone and throwing it into the ocean.
Green is known for his work on TV series like "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Desperate Housewives." The suit claims that the actor then tackled Shaw, "pummeling" his face while trying to take the camera. Shaw claims that the "Transformers" actress cheered for her husband.
The incident, which was reportedly videotaped, was broken up by Four Seasons security guards who escorted Shaw off the premises. The complaint claims that Green has beaten up two other photographers at the same hotel.
Shaw is suing for assault and battery, conspiracy and false imprisonment, and demands that Green and Fox pay for his medical bills as well as punitive damages for "humiliation and severe mental and emotional distress." The photographer claims that the incident also caused permanent disabilities.
Though Fox did not participate in the alleged brawl, encouraging someone to fight makes one complicit in an assault, both criminally and civilly, according to Reuters.
Fox's rep had no immediate response to the lawsuit.
Fox, 25, and Green, 38, wed in a small ceremony in Hawaii on June 24, 2010. This is the first marriage for both, though Green has an son with actress Vanessa Marcil named Kassius Lijah, who turns 10 on March 30.
Green recently accompanied Fox to the premiere of her new movie, "Friends With Kids," which hit theaters on March 9 and depicts the lives of an American couple, Jason and Julie, played by Adam Scott and Westfeldt, who decide to have a baby together but maintain a platonic relationship. Fox portrays a woman named Mary Jane, a potential love interest for Jason.
Supporting characters include couple Ben and Missy, played by Jon Hamm and Kristen Wiig, and Leslie and Alex, portrayed by the pair's fellow "Bridesmaids" co-star Maya Rudolph and actor Chris O'Dowd.
Fox will appear next in Judd Apatow's "This is 40," which follows Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's characters from "Knocked Up," several years after the events of the movie. "This is 40" also stars Jason Segel, Chris O'Dowd and Melissa McCarthy and is slated for release on December 21, 2012.
