Sherri Shepherd and her "Dancing With The Stars" partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy are the perfect odd couple.
"I'm like the Lucy to his Ricky," Shepherd told OnTheRedCarpet.com after week 2 of the reality series. "He's so Russian, so it takes lots of work on my part to make him laugh."
"It's a great abs exercise for me, I stay in shape by [laughing], I just have to stop cramping up in the cheeks. But she's incredible, she keeps it fun," Chmerkovskiy agreed. "I have a tendency to get a little too deep and keep it to myself, I'm a little more timid, but she brings out the best in me. I really appreciate her."
Sherri Shepherd, a 47-year-old actress and comedienne who co-hosts the ABC show "The View," brought her high energy to the dance floor on Monday. During the second week of "Dancing With The Stars," Shepherd and Chmerkovskiy earned 23 points out of 30 from the judges for their jive set to Tina Turner's "Proud Mary."
"I didn't realize I was singing the whole time but I love 'Proud Mary'!" Shepherd enthused. "This is a fantasy come true to do 'Proud Mary.' You've seen Tina Turner in concert, I do it at home in front of my bathroom mirror all the time, but to be able to do it on the dance floor in front of America - what?!"
Shepherd previously confessed to practicing with her mirror, telling OnTheRedCarpet.com, "I have my professional dance partner - my mirror... I drop it like it's hot for my husband all the time."
Though the first week brought some of the highest scores ever received in a premiere, the second week mixed it up a bit. Classic singer Katherine Jenkins remained at the top of the judge's leader board but Jaleel White lost footing to Disney star Roshon Fegan.
Meanwhile, R&B legend Gladys Knight and Tennis legend Martina Navratilova landed in the bottom of the leader board with 19 and 17 points respectively. While fan votes can save them, a massive 72 percent of OnTheRedCarpet.com readers believed that Navratilova would be the first contestant to be sent home.
