OTRC: Lindsay Lohan's 2007 DUI case probation over, judge says 'Stop nightclubbing'

Lindsay Lohan appears in a Los Angeles court on March 29, 2012 for her final probation hearing stemming from a 2007 drunk driving and cocaine possession case. The judge ruled that her formal probation is over and she will be on informal probation until May 24, 2014, meaning she does not have to appear at hearings or meet with a probation officer.

Lindsay Lohan has fulfilled all her probation requirements stemming from a 2007 drunk driving and cocaine possession case, which has stalled her acting career, a judge has ruled.

The 25-year-old has served five stints in jail and was in April 2011 ordered to complete 480 hours of community service at a women's shelter and morgue, undergo psychological counseling and pay a slew of legal fees as part of a sentence handed down for a misdemeanor theft charge involving a missing necklace, which had in itself constituted a violation of her probation.

Lohan has in recent months received positive reviews about her progress and faced the judge once more on Thursday, March 29.

"Probation terminates today. Now," the judge said. "I'm not going to give a lecture because you know what you need to do. You need to live your life in a more mature way, stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work. You don't need to come to court anymore. The DUI case is now over for you."

She said Lohan will now be on informal probation, meaning she will not have to attend progress report hearings or report to an officer, but will have to continue to obey the law.

"It's not that hard." the judge added. "I know it's hard when you're been followed everywhere, but that's the life you chose. The necklace case will be hanging over your head until May 24, 2014 and I don't expect to see you again."

"I just want to say thank you, your Honor, for being fair," Lohan said. "It's really opened a lot of doors for me so I really appreciate it."

The actress said on the "Today" show earlier this month that she's now "clean and sober." She said going out on the Hollywood scene isn't fun for her anymore.
