A "Twins" sequel entitled "Triplets" is in the works and will reportedly star Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy.

Schwarzenegger and DeVito to reprise their roles as experimentally conceived twin brothers Julius and Vincent from the 1988 comedy "Twins." Murphy will star as their newly-discovered brother, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film's original director Ivan Reitman has signed on to produce the film along with Joe Medjuk, Tom Pollock and Ali Bell from his Montecito Picture production company.

There is no director attached to the project as of yet and according to the industry magazine, the project needs writers to develop the concept.

"Twins" followed the hijinks of the intelligent and physically fit Julius (Schwarzenegger) as he tries to identify with his small-time crook of a fraternal twin Vincent (DeVito) after the pair is separated at birth.

The film grossed over $200 million worldwide and Universal Pictures is presumably hoping for a similar outcome, 25 years later.

Murphy recently appeared in the long-delayed comedy "A Thousand Words", which earned $15.6 million in the box office with a budget of $40 million. Murphy, 50, was also recently the target of a death hoax.

DeVito, 67, who recently voiced the title character in "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax", currently portrays Frank in the popular FX comedy "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger, 64, recently returned to acting in "The Expendables 2" following his separation from Maria Shriver and stint as California governor.
