Kansas man struck by lightning after playing Mega Millions

WICHITA, Kan.

Bill Isles, 48, was struck in Wichita, Kan., Thursday night just hours after buying three lotto tickets for the big Mega Millions jackpot.

He was standing in his backyard gazing at the stormy weather, when suddenly a lightning bolt threw him to the ground.

"Flash, bang and I'm on the ground and it's like 'Okay, where did that come from?'" Isles said. "I don't think it was a direct strike again because I didn't get any burns. It's not a feeling or something I'd want to go through again."

Isles was able to reach for his radio and call for help. Although he's still experiencing muscle spasms, he says he's lucky to be alive.
