OTRC: Tara Reid talks plastic surgery and 'party girl' past

Tara Reid takes offense to being known for her plastic surgery over her acting work and rightfully so.

While promoting "American Reunion," the actress told Australian News, "It's as if I'm the only person in the world who's had it. I don't want to be a poster child for it. I've done a lot more stuff in my life than have plastic surgery."

The actress, who has in recent years been reduced to tabloid fodder, said the constant commentary on her appearance is "bullying." The slim star told Us Weekly in 2010, that she underwent plastic surgery to fix cosmetic procedures done on her breasts and stomach years earlier, which made her embarrassed to wear a bikini in public.

"I'm actually quite sensitive," Reid continued. "It frustrates me, because there's more to me than that... It's like eating a cake with six layers and only touching the top one. But it's out of my control. All I can do is be the best person I can be."

The 36-year-old actress lives next door to her parents by the beach in Los Angeles, where they have Sunday dinners together as a family.

"I don't know why a party girl is a bad thing," Reid said of her "party girl" moniker. "It's about having fun and being happy. Why should we punish that girl? I've never been arrested, I've never been in trouble, I've never done anything bad, so I don't get why that's a bad thing. I like to be happy, and people know that if they're around me, they're going to have fun."

Reid rose to fame as a teen sex symbol in the 1990s. Aside from her part in "American Pie" and its 2001 sequel, she is also known for playing Bunny Lebowski in the 1998 cult comedy movie "The Big Lebowski" and for her role as college journalist Gwen Pearson in the 2002 comedy movie "Van Wilder," which starred Ryan Reynolds.

The actress made headlines in August when she Tweeted about getting married in Greece to a man named Zack Kehayov. However, Reid later said in October that she was "never really married" to Kehayov. When asked why, she replied that the marriage was "never legal."

"I'm not married," Reid told News.com.AU. "I'm very single and very happy right now... I've been through a lot and I feel good with my life right now. I'm a lot more at peace and relaxed. And that has a lot to do with maturing; you calm down a lot and life isn't so fast-paced. I like nothing more than chilling with my dog by the fireplace."

The actress will next appear in "American Reunion," the fourth big-screen sequel to the "American Pie" franchise which features most of the original cast members. Reid reprises her role as Victoria "Vicky" Lathum.

The film is set for release on April 6. Check out the trailer for "American Reunion" below.
