OTRC: Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino is home, 'stronger and better' after treatment

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino says he is "stronger and better" after being treated for "a prescription medication problem."

"Michael 'The Situation' Sorrentino is home and would like to thank his fans, friends, family, and business partners for their continued support and words of encouragement," read a statement on Sorrentino's official website. "He is now stronger and better than ever, and excited for this new amazing chapter in his life."

"With your positive reinforcement and a whole new outlook on life - there are so many great things on the horizon, and I am sure you will all be excited for the many new projects Sitch has in development," the statement continued. "Words alone cannot express how much you all mean to Mike, and his gratitude for the care you showed him is infinite."

"It's good to be home!" Sorrentino wrote on Twitter, with a link to the statement which he titled, "The Situation is Home and Has a Message For His Fans and Business Partners."

On March 20, the reality star's rep confirmed to OnTheRedCarpet.com that Sorrentino was recuperating at an "undisclosed location. The following day, Sorrentino's official website featured a message about his actual "situation."

"I want to set the record straight," Sorrentino was quoted as saying. "I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion. I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys."

Also on Wednesday, the self-proclaimed "guido" Tweeted more messages such as: "don't believe everything you read or hear," and "Do NOT Believe Everything You Hear, Especially from TMZ." The reality star's rep added that they would not confirm TMZ's report that the reality star was in rehab for substance abuse.

The website on Wednesday reported that Sorrentino" was "undergoing rehab at the famous Cirque Lodge in Utah" and that his treatment was for "prescription meds."

It was confirmed earlier this week that "Jersey Shore" is set to return for a sixth season with all of the cast members, including Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who is pregnant with her first child. The new season will film in the show's original location of Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

"Jersey Shore," which depicts the lives of party-loving, self-proclaimed "Guidos and Guidettes" and is one of the top-rated cable programs, just ended its fifth season. Polizzi is filming a spin-off show with cast member Jenni "JWoww" Farley.

The premiere dates for the sixth season of "Jersey Shore" and Polizzi and Farley's spin-off have not been announced. "Jersey Shore" star Paul "Pauly D" Delvecchio also headlines a new show called "The Pauly D Project," which premiered on MTV on March 29.
