The Los Angeles County sheriff's office confirmed its Explosives Unit responded to the call. Officials were checking out a white truck in the shopping center's parking lot.
A witness told ABC7 that she saw two men at the location, taken into custody by police, and one of them was wearing a U.S. Marines shirt.
It was not known if either of the two men are U.S. Marines.
