Three men were arrested Thursday in connection to three separate attempted robberies of high school students in La Crescenta, authorities said.

Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said, Austin Cho, Young Kum and Edward Shin, all 24 year olds, threatened several Crescenta Valley High School students and demanded their cellphones.

The suspects were arrested at a shopping center on Foothill Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue. A BB gun was recovered in their possession.

Deputies said they believe the students were targeted because of the area they live in.
