Pursuit ends in standoff on 101 Freeway

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES

According to California Highway Patrol, the chase started on the westbound 10 Freeway at Via Verde just west of Pomona. They said it started as a possible road rage incident with someone possibly seen brandishing a weapon.

Officers said the pursuit ensued after the driver failed to yield. He stayed on the westbound 10 Freeway for about half an hour before he crashed on the northbound 101 Freeway at Alameda Street.

The suspect was seen being struck apparently by non-lethal rounds and was taken into custody moments later.
