"Dancing With The Stars" host Tom Bergeron promised on Twitter early Tuesday that the "Dancing With The Stars" elimination would "make your jaws drop." He wasn't kidding. Spoiler Alert!
At the end of the episode "The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd and solid scorer Roshon Fegan were standing under the red lights facing elimination. Bergeron then announced it was Shepherd going home.
Shepherd, still teary-eyed from her elimination, spoke to OnTheRedCarpet.com correspondent George Pennacchio backstage after the elimination show on April 10 and said her tears were not because she felt sad about leaving the show.
"I want people to know that when I cry, it's a happy cry. It's a grateful cry," she said. "I got to live a dream and, you know, you never want your dream to end so it's, you know, to get off the ride so early, it's a little heartbreaking but I'm very thankful for the ride that I got."
Shepherd also said about her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, "made my experience absolutely amazing."
In turn, Val had nothing but kind words for his celebrity partner.
"I just feel really embarrassed and really sorry. You know, I don't really get teary-eyed but I genuinely, you know, as much passion as she put into it, I really feel like I should have done better for her."
During her interview fellow contestant Jaleel White came over and kissed her on her cheek and other contestants and pro dancers expressed fond feelings for Shepherd in the brief time they knew her in the competition.
"This was truly a family and I've met some amazing people," Shepherd said. "Every day was a joy to be here. It really--I got to smile every day."
