Halle Berry confirmed her engagement to actor Olivier Martinez, even though she once swore off marriage for good.
The Academy Award-winning actress reportedly became engaged to the actor in January. Martinez confirmed the engagement to reporters in March.
"Who knew? I swore it [marriage] right," Berry told Extra on April 14.
In a 2007 interview with InStyle magazine, Berry said according to People magazine, "I will never, never get married again."
Berry added, "Actually it's just that now I've come to a place where I think two people can share their lives without the ring, without the piece of paper."
She went on to tell Extra "Never say never people!"
Martinez said the designer of the ring was Robert Mazlo. Mazlo is a jeweler from Martinez's Saint Germain-des-Pres neighborhood in Paris. Martinez called the designer, "a real artist."
Berry, 45, and Martinez, 46, met on the set of the movie "Dark Tide" around the summer of 2010 and have been photographed together several times at celebrity events and in public since then.
Berry has been married twice before and has a 4-year-old daughter, Nahla, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. The two are in a custody battle over the child. The actress and David Justice, a baseball player, were married for more than four years in the 1990s. Berry then wed singer Eric Benet in 2001. They divorced almost four years later.
Martinez, known for his role in films such as "Unfaithful" and "Taking Lives," dated singer Kylie Minogue for four years before they broke up in 2007.
