Hemet sexual assault suspect sketch released

A Hemet sexual assault suspect is described as a Native American or Hispanic male in his mid-50s, standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium to stocky build. He had green eyes and a dark beard with no mustache. The suspect wore a dark hooded sweatshirt and camouflage pants.

Riverside County Sheriff's deputies from the Hemet Station responded Monday to a report of an attempted sexual assault at about 5 p.m. in the community of Anza near Hill Street and Engstrom Road.

A 16-year-old female was walking home from Hamilton High School. She took a shortcut through an open field when she was attacked by an adult male suspect and forced to the ground.

The girl was able to fight back and free herself, according to the department. She then ran to a friend's house in the area to report the incident. She was uninjured in the attack.

The suspect is described as a Native American or Hispanic male in his mid-50s, standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium to stocky build. He had green eyes and a dark beard with no mustache. The suspect wore a dark hooded sweatshirt and camouflage pants.
