Snooki, The Situation and the rest of the "Jersey Shore" crew have certainly left their mark on America and it appears that some of their fans want to reciprocate.
The MTV reality show, a top-rated cable program that depicts the lives of party-loving, self-proclaimed "Guidos and Guidettes," usually films during the summers. The rest of the time, the house that serves as the temporary home of its cast members is rented out to members of the public. Scores of tourists have taken pictures in front of it.
Recent fan photos taken several days ago show the walls and garage door covered in graffiti, with slogans that read things like "We love u Snookie," "I love Pauly D" and "JJ was here 4/14/12." Real estate broker Mike Loundy of Seaside Realty, which rents out the "Jersey Shore" house, told OnTheRedCarpet.com the building's exterior has already been repainted since then.
"It's nothing of any consequence to us," he said about the graffiti, adding that the house has gone up to a month without outside touch-ups, downplaying a TMZ report that said it needed to be repainted on a weekly basis.
Loundy says the house, which contains six bedrooms and three bathrooms, undergoes routine maintenance and is serviced after renters check out. The building can be rented for $2,500 per night, or for a discounted rate of $14,000 per week, from now until mid-August. It is usually booked every weekend, he added.
Photos and a YouTube video (warning: explicit language) of the home that were shot as early as 2009, the year the series debuted, also show some graffiti on its exterior walls, but not as much as recently. TMZ reported that security has been beefed up around the area as a result of the vandalism. An MTV spokesperson had no immediate comment.
"Jersey Shore," which depicts the lives of party-loving, self-proclaimed "Guidos and Guidettes," is one of the top-rated cable programs. It just ended its fifth season and is set to soon begin production on a sixth. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who recently announced she is pregnant, is also filming a spin-off show with cast member Jenni "JWoww" Farley. Paul "Pauly D" Delvecchio also headlines a new show called "The Pauly D Project. It debuted on MTV on March 29.
