Landau hit America's favorite dance floor from 1976 to 1986. He says the years he spent with Clark were one big party and made up the most important chapter of his life.
Landau was at work when he got the call from his sister.
"I was, like, in shock for a while, and then I started getting phone calls left and right, and afterwards I just had to go into the bathroom, and I just went in there and cried, I just couldn't believe it," said Landau. "I cried because it was like, our father. You know I have my dad still alive and my mom, but he was like a second father, he was there for all of us, he loved us, and we loved him."
The American Bandstand Dancers alumni president said despite Clark's wealth, fame and power, he always remained humble and approachable. Landau also remembers how Clark instilled his vibrancy and zest for life into everyone around him.
A memorial service for Clark will be held at his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday at noon.
