Justin Bieber and Carrie Underwood are just some of the acts named as performers lined up for the 2012 Billboard Awards telecast, ABC announced on April 19.
The awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 20 at 8 p.m. ET. Other performers include "Sexy and I Know It" singer/rappers LMFAO and British pop boy band The Wanted, who are known for their hit single "Glad You Came."
Bieber, 18, recently released his new single "Boyfriend" from his upcoming album "Believe," which is set to be released on June 19. Meanwhile, "American Idol" season 4 winner Carrie Underwood is gearing up to release her fourth studio album "Blown Away" on May 1.
The Billboard Music Awards returned from a five-year hiatus in 2011. "Community" and "Hangover" franchise actor Ken Jeong served as host. Bieber won the Top New Artist award as well as Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Digital Media Arts and Fan Favorite Of The Year award.
His "My World 2.0" album also won Top Pop Album. Bieber performed with LMFAO at the American Music Awards in November. The young singer danced along to their single "Party Rock Anthem."
