Adam Levine recently Tweeted a photo of himself sporting a bloody look, which appears to be for a music video.
The Maroon 5 frontman Tweeted the picture, which shows him making a pouty face while donning what appear to be bruises and cuts on his eye and lip, on Thursday alongside the caption: "Rough morning."
The blood appears to be fake and for the music video of his band's new single, "Payphone." Photos of him sporting the same bloody look, while wearing a suit and glasses and running alongside an undentified woman, were posted on the website of US Weekly. The magazine said the pictures were taken on the set of the "Payphone" music video.
"Shot the video for #payphone today. This (expletive) is truly insane. In a great way. Crazy," Levine Tweeted, latter adding on Friday: "From bank robberies to boxing matches. Using music videos to fulfill as many childhood fantasies as possible!"
Levine premiered and performed the single, which also features Wiz Khalifa, on the April 16 episode of "The Voice." Levine serves as a co-mentor on the NBC singing contest show. The song made available on iTunes after the episode. Levine thanked his fans on Twitter for making the song hit the No. 1 spot. As of Friday, it is currently No. 28, while Gotye's "Making Mirrors" is in the top spot.
Levine recently made headlines for splitting from girlfriend of two years Anne Vyalitsyna in early April. The Victoria's Secret Model had appeared in Maroon 5's 2010 music video for Misery."
Vyalitsyna and Levine famously walked the runway together at the 2011 Victoria's Secret show, where the singer was a performer. They also posed together naked on the cover of Russian Vogue.
The Russian-born model has also appeared in the past eight Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues. The pair met in 2010 in Las Vegas party for the magazine that featured a performance from Maroon 5.
Levine recently confirmed that he would appear in season two of "American Horror Story." It was revealed in March that season one cast members Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson would return as new characters in the upcoming season.
"It's going to be fun. And I told [Ryan] I really didn't know what I was doing but he didn't seem to really care," Levine told E! News. "So I'm just going to go and try to [do] acting. I think I'm going to be kind of playing myself so hopefully it will be easy."
Maroon 5's new album, "Overexposed," is available through pre-order for both the standard and deluxe editions on the band's official website. Watch the premiere of the single "Payphone" from the April 16 episode of "The Voice" below.
