La La Anthony says her husband, NBA star Carmelo Anthony, is "definitely true" to his nickname, "Melo," which "works" well for her, and jokes that they are like grandparents with it comes to their relationship.
The 32-year-old TV personality and reality star made her comments to OnTheRedCarpet.com host Rachel Smith at the premiere of her new film, the romantic comedy "Think Like A Man," in Los Angeles.
"He is definitely true to his name," she said about her husband. "He is super mellow, super chill. It takes a lot to kind of rile him up. But it works, because my personality is a little more bubbly and over the top, so we kind of balance each other out."
La La Anthony and the 27-year-old player for the New York Knicks have been married since June 2010. They have a 5-year-old son, Kiyan.
"It's been for us now, what, we've been married for a year now," she said. "With my husband, I guess because we were together for eight years before we got married, it feels like we are grandparents now, like Grandma and Grandpa. But it's been great."
La La Anthony is known for her hosting work on shows such as MTV's "Direct Effect" and "Total Request Live" and her VH1 reality show "La La's Full Court Life". She has previously starred in films such as "Gun" and "You Got Served." In "Think Like A Man," she plays a woman named Sonia.
"I think there are pieces of every part of this movie that could go into all relationships, but I love it, it's such a great movie," she said. "It's so funny, but it has so much truth to it - and I'm just happy to be in it and be a part of it. I think there is a time where we have to put some of the emotions aside, and think a little bit like a man, yes."
The film also stars Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Meagan Good, Regina Hall, "Entourage" star Jerry Ferrara, Terrence Jenkins, Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy, Romany Malco and Chris Brown, who makes a cameo.
