Scotty McCreery made his acting debut on the April 23 episode of the CW series "Hart of Dixie."
The series stars "OC" actress Rachel Bilson as a New York doctor named Zoe Hart who accepts an offer to work at a small practice in Bluebell, Alabama after she fails to get a fellowship at a New York hospital.
McCreery, who won "American Idol" last year, played himself and sang his single "The Trouble With Girls." McCreery's appearance can be seen below.
The singer also had a bit of an accident while pitching for his high school baseball team on April 19. McCreery was pitching in the third inning for Garner High School against East Wake High School when a "one-hopper" hit back to the mound hit McCreery in the throat, according to The Associated Press.
The 18-year-old singer recently announced earlier this month that he will attend North Carolina State in the fall. It is the same school his father attended and obtained his degree.
McCreery also Tweeted about attending his prom on April 21 and included a photo of himself and friends dressed up for the occasion.
McCreery is a native of North Carolina. His debut album "Clear As Day" is certified platinum. McCreery also set a record for "American Idol." He is the first winner of the FOX singing competition series to top the Billboard 200 chart with a debut studio record since 2003, when season 2 champion Ruben Studdard's album "Soulful" was No. 1.
