Lindsay Lohan's image makeover is taking another step in the right direction as she has been invited to rub elbows with political figures and other A-list celebrities at the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 28.
The event will also include celebrities like George Clooney, Zooey Deschanel, Charlize Theron and Reese Witherspoon, according to Politico. Lohan is attending as a guest of Fox News personality Greta Van Susteren.
It was announced in November that comedian Jimmy Kimmel will be the featured host of the dinner. Traditionally, the president and first lady attend the event, which supports and recognizes excellence in journalism. They're usually joined by other government officials and members of the press.
Kimmel recently talked about what people can expect from his stint as host of the dinner. "It's hard to make fun of Obama in general because he's a cool character," Kimmel told Reuters in an interview on April 24. "Outside of his ears, there's not a whole lot."
"I go into these situations with a lot of optimism, thinking that people have a great sense of humor, and then I am almost always surprised that they didn't afterwards," Kimmel added. "But it's better to go in blindly with a big smile on your face and come out trembling."
This week has been a positive week for Lohan in general. It was announced on April 23 that she was cast to play Elizabeth Taylor in the in the Lifetime Original Movie "Liz & Dick."
The film will be based on the story of Taylor's torrid romance with actor Richard Burton and is set to begin shooting in June in Los Angeles, the network said in a statement. The actor playing Burton has not been announced.
